THE PORTRAIT OF A DETERMINED WOMAN: Séverine Guégan
In 2022, Séverine was faced with a double diagnosis of breast cancer, leading to no fewer than five operations in the same year, including a mastectomy. But Séverine is not an ordinary woman. She embodies will, enthusiasm and solidarity, with a passion for yoga and travel that drives her deeply. Faced with adversity, she decided to set an ambitious goal: participate in the Amazon Raid.
The challenge she set herself: to participate in the Amazon Raid.
The Raid Amazones, created more than two decades ago by Alexandre Debanne, a great sportsman and passionate traveler, is much more than a simple sporting competition. Since 2004, this initiative has highlighted the inner strength and courage of women, encouraging them to push their limits during a 100% female sporting adventure, which takes place in the great outdoors, punctuated by demanding multi-sport events.

The “Parenthesis Rose” Association: Cultivating Positivity and Determination
Throughout her sponsorship efforts and her meetings, Séverine became aware that her inspiring journey and her testimony had had a profound impact on many people. This experience was the catalyst for a bold idea that took root in his mind, fueled by the powerful energy of the Amazon Raid. On her return from Colombo, she founded the Parenthese association.
Parenthesis is much more than a simple association. Her mission is to support women in cultivating positivity and determination through the practice of yoga. Séverine has discovered that yoga, when combined with a comprehensive holistic approach, has the power to improve motor skill and muscular strength, reduce fatigue, break feelings of isolation and improve perception of one's own body.
For the year 2024, she wishes to support the League Against Cancer so that women suffering from this disease can have access to yoga sessions, an activity medically recognized for its multiple benefits. She wishes to transmit and promote the benefits of physical activity which relieves our pathologies and helps in physical and mental reconstruction.
